Jounrey Into Night

I chose to read another essay by David Sedaris which is “Journey Into Night.” I really enjoyed reading his essay “Turbulence”, so I decided to surf the net to find something else by him. This travel essay is about a flight that David takes while he is sitting in Business Elite. This seat is ranked higher then coach, but not as high as first class. He doesn’t usually fly Business Elite, so having the chance to for this flight was important. Once the flight started, the stewardess came over and asked David if she could do her a favor. A polish passenger flying coach was disruptively crying and other passengers were complaining. She wanted to move the man before something happened. David agreed and his interesting flight began.

This essay was really well written and kept you engaged. Sedaris had great developed scenes and good use of dialogue. He also had thorough tangents that were applicable to the essay. Check it out: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2007/12/17/071217fa_fact_sedaris?currentPage=1
