For the past couple of years a lot of the relationships that I have/had are changing. About three years ago I received a gift from my brother and sister in law. It was a glass candle holder with two seals together. The seals are a smaller seal and a bigger seal; symbolizing an older brother/sister and younger sister relationship. I am looking to explore different kinds of relationships from friend to friend, boyfriend to girlfriend, marital,etc.
1. At what point has our society accepted inter racial relationships, homosexual relationships, etc.?
2. What determines “stepping” over your bounds in a relationship?
3. How have relationships evolved over the years (Ex: the divorce rate is much higher than it was years ago-why is this?)
4. What are the characteristics to a good or bad relationships?

I think everyone has the questions that you’ve raised. I know I do. I really like questions 2 and 4. It seems like in relationships we assume and guess a lot of the time!

The questions that you discussed covered a wide range of aspects of the issue which really made me think about the situation. I think the tricky part is that some of the answers to these questions are all within yourself and your own views, however questions one and three really reach out to our society in search of answers.

I thought your questions were really good. I especially liked your last question because I believe it is a question we all have. It is unusual to find someone who know the characteristics that make up a good relationship. Relationships are complicated and they often raise many questions.

I feel like this would be a really good topic for the essay if you choose to follow through with it. Your questions are interesting. I agree with Cara that some of the questions are up to opinion, but at the same time I think that, for instance, while number four has a lot to do with opinion there are some basic things that help define a good relationship no matter who or where you are.

This a great topic to explore! !! Why is the divorce rate so high? I really enjoyed question number Three because the way relationships are today versus 50 years ago is completely different! What has contributed to this change? Relationships are like roller coasters, I don’t believe ANYONE has all the answers!
